Claire

Pushing all my buttons

Claire Munford

Management Trainee, Benchmarx

If Claire had to push a buzzer and yell 'next' one more time she thought she'd go mad.

After six years' working at a bank Claire felt like she was at a dead end. All her talents were being wasted and inside her head she was screaming 'there has to be more to life!' Claire didn't just want a job, she wanted a career.

Then one day she had a Eureka moment. She came across the Travis Perkins Training scheme. The opportunity to go back to college once a week and get paid to learn a whole new career was what Claire craved. She applied and her life has been turned around.

Claire admits she was nervous about the change, 'but it was really satisfying applying what I'd learned in my working week. When you're doing GCSEs and A'levels, the subjects aren't that relevant to your working life, but this is.'

She feels far more confident and the training has given her a proper working knowledge of every role within the company. So when asking someone to do something she knows what she's talking about. It's exactly what Claire was searching for and at last pushes all the right buttons.
